Borgata Poker Open Main Event Goes Live on September 19

New Jersey’s online gambling sector flourishes amid the partnership of BetMGM and Borgata. The operators have joined hands to sponsor the World Poker Tour offering 1 million dollars in guaranteed prizes. The event is set to go live on September 19.

It will be a 3,500k WPT event spanning three days. The Borgata Online Poker Main Event will be broadcast on the partypoker US network in New Jersey. There will be three poker rooms, namely partypoker New Jersey, Borgata New Jersey, and BetMGM.

Its 1 million dollars worth of guaranteed prizes is the highest amount in regulated online poker history for the US. That is why the poker community is perceiving the event as ambitious. To put things into a better perspective, even PokerStars has not run an event of such magnitude in the US. 

While the event usually takes place in person, this time, it will be an online event. The tournament has been taking place since 2003, and operators generally use a large field to conduct it. 

Other than the staggering winning prize, the event will also offer the winner the Mike Sexton World Poker Tour Cup. The cup was named after the legendary poker commentator and player who died in 2020.

The tournament has a successful track record, so the operators are assured about its market performance. Moreover, WPT and BetMGM hold the experience to conduct such events previously. The duo previously undertook the 1 million dollars guaranteed tournament back in 2020 last, which ended up generating over 1,260,000 dollars.
